GHSP—a major tier one automotive supplier based in Grand Haven, MI—made a strategic decision years ago to level up their mechanical capabilities to include mechatronics products. They made significant strides toward expanding their portfolio offerings to include electronic automotive components, and teamed up with Morey to expand electronics capabilities and capacity.

Morey and GHSP developed a strategic plan of attack to collaborate on a “Smart Actuator” platform. The product aids the vehicle in meeting specific gas efficiency requirements by keeping a consistent fluid pressure to critical drivetrain systems while the engine is powered off. Working as a team, we were able to create an optimized vendor profile and capacity plan to meet aggressive plans for production. Turning then to the actual build of two revisions of the electronic assembly, Morey suggested specific design changes to the PCB currently in production which improved solderability.

Our efforts facilitated the aggressive schedule for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) builds. This was achieved while developing a strategic supply chain to control costs and quality. GHSP has continued to see sustained growth, allowing them to better compete with larger, entrenched global suppliers. Our teams have been there all along the way with expertise and capacity to meet their needs.
