How did a 90-year-old, tier one automotive supplier quickly augment their mechanical capabilities to field industry-leading mechatronics platforms?

They realized they couldn’t meet the challenge alone…
A major tier one automotive supplier made a strategic decision years ago to level up their mechanical capabilities to include mechatronics products. The company made significant strides toward expanding its portfolio offerings to include electronic automotive components. They teamed up with us to expand electronics capabilities and capacity.

Morey joined the team…
Morey and the customer developed a strategic plan of attack to collaborate on a “Smart Actuator” platform. The product aids the vehicle in meeting specific gas efficiency requirements by keeping a consistent fluid pressure to critical drive train systems while the engine is powered off. Working as a team, we were able to create an optimized vendor profile and capacity plan to meet aggressive plans for production. Turning then to the actual build of two revisions of the electronic assembly, Morey suggested specific design changes to the PCB currently in production which improved solderability.

90 years of mechanical expertise + 85 years of electronics = Great Results
Our efforts facilitated the aggressive schedule for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) builds. This was achieved while developing a strategic supply chain to control costs and quality. The customer is set to double in growth in the next three years, allowing them to better compete with larger, entrenched global suppliers. Our teams will be there all along the way with expertise and capacity to meet the need.
