The Morey Corporation Breaks Ground on Major Manufacturing Capability Expansion

Woodridge, Illinois, USA – The Morey Corporation announces a major expansion of manufacturing capacity at its Woodridge, IL headquarters, with groundbreaking in September 2008, and completion projected in June 2009. The expansion includes significant additions of manufacturing space – nearly doubling the existing facility’s manufacturing square footage -as well as additional manufacturing automation that once fully deployed, will give Morey a 280% increase in manufacturing capacity.

This growth-driven expansion will ensure that we maintain our global leadership position in the forefront of telematics development and manufacture.”

The expansion includes an increase in manufacturing space from its current 52,000 square feet with an 82,000 square foot freestanding addition. Enhancements to the existing Morey facility will include an additional 45,000 square feet of manufacturing, 29,000 square feet of warehousing, and an additional support area.

Beyond the current high-capacity installation, significant manufacturing equipment additions are also planned. The first increment of the expansion includes the addition of a 4th fully automated double-sided SMT line; 4th & 5th selective soldering stations; a 2nd double-sided conformal coating line; a 3rd automated optical inspection station; and a 5th in-circuit test station; all expected to be fully operational by the start of the 4th quarter within the existing facility. Not counting the space, the equipment additions alone constitute a nearly 35% increase in production capacity over current capabilities. When completed and fully implemented the expansion will enhance overall production capacity by 280%.
