Morey Rugged TRAX Telematics Passes PTCRB Testing; Heads Into Production
Woodbridge, Illinois, USA – The Morey Corporation’s new Rugged TRAX MT-30SQ Dual Mode Telematics Controller has recently passed PTCRB testing, and was been released for production in December 2008 in North America. The Rugged TRAX MT-30SQ is a powerful new asset management product that helps fleet owners fully utilize, track, and maintain their equipment. The MT-30 system employs the latest wireless communication technology to access status and location data of a company’s vehicular assets worldwide.
In making the announcement, Keith Gelinas, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for The Morey Corporation, stated, “Customers are looking for reliable hardware that will last, and Morey hardware is proven in the field to be reliable. It’s designed to perform flawlessly under extremely harsh conditions.”
This milestone is the first in our family of ruggedized telematics products being introduced to the market by The Morey Corporation. The Rugged TRAX MT-30 offers a range of far-reaching capabilities including global wireless connectivity via both cellular GSM and satellite communications, location tracking via GPS, vehicle / machine data bus access and multiple I/O. The enclosure is designed to survive the toughest conditions. Production is now being driven by customer demand.
The PTCRB (PCS Type Certification Review Board) manages the test and certification process for manufactures of GSM/UMTS wireless devices which will be operating on PTCRB operator network. Thus, the PTCRB network operators ensure that a minimum set of ‘device performance requirements’ are met and that the wireless devices in use will not cause harm to their networks. PTCRB certification is important for both module manufacturers and End Product manufacturers implementing PTCRB certified modules. For North American markets, manufacturers, who integrate a pre-certified module into their GSM/UMTS wireless M2M device, have to submit their “End Product” in its final (production) form factor to a PTCRB authorized test laboratory for testing & certification. Applications for the Rugged TRAX MT-30SQ include fleet and trailer management; industrial automation control; marine; security and asset management; and others. In addition to tracking, the system also offers remote diagnostics and control.
