Increase Quality, Reduce Costs, and Deliver Value

Any manufacturing operation serious about increasing quality, reducing costs and directing company resources only to those activities that the customer values will eventually implement a comprehensive LEAN strategy.
That’s precisely what MOREY did 18 months ago.

I have spent the better part of 15 years training in Toyota Production System (TPS) and then applying that knowledge to manufacturing operations throughout the world with leading companies like Philips Lighting and ALCOA. Now I’m at MOREY implementing LEAN manufacturing principles and practices across the entire organization. My overall intention is to use LEAN as a baseline system to create a continuous improvement culture.

The goals of LEAN are simple: Increase Quality, Reduce Costs and Deliver Value. This blog will prove that LEAN delivers these outcomes.

LEAN is a big topic. Thousands of companies from all industries have implemented LEAN systems in some way or another. At MOREY, we are not only utilizing the tools of LEAN, we’re driving LEAN to the very core of our business practices. From the executive leadership to the line operators, LEAN will be the primary means by which we pursue excellence in quality, productivity and customer service.

This blog will be a window into the world of MOREY and will tell the story of how we are turning a 75-year-old manufacturing operation into a world-class LEAN operation.  I will be sharing how we’re doing this and what we’re learning. Most importantly I will share how our customers are benefiting from LEAN. This will all be backed up with data: case studies, before-and-after assessments, best practices, etc.

So who should follow this blog? MOREY is specific to electronic manufacturing but LEAN is bigger than any one industry. If you’re in any way involved in the manufacturing and delivery of products to the marketplace, this blog is for you.

Here are three ways to get the MOREY LEAN blog:

Twitter – you can follow MOREY on twitter by clicking here. You will be notified not only when my blogs are posted but when other thought leaders in our organization post their blogs.

E-mail – You can e-mail here to be put on our e-mail distribution list.

Contact form – You can fill out this contact form to receive all MOREY blogs and updates.

Also, you will want to follow Dave Seifrid’s blog, “Lean into It”. Dave is MOREY’s Manager of Planning and Customer Support. He and his team have the most day-to-day interaction with our customers. He will give you the “real story”, the ups-and-downs of LEAN implementation, and the true impact LEAN is having on our culture and our customers.

Beyond receiving our blogs, you’ll also be able to participant in the conversation. You can either comment on our blog posts directly or e-mail me at tahmad@moreycorp.com.

I look forward to your input!

Stay tuned…
