Software Engineer- Data Base Systems

Job Description:

We are looking for a creative problem solver with critical thinking skills who will be an enthusiastic team player. The person in this position will be expected to work under minimal supervision and provide high-quality software programming, database design, support, and testing. This person must be someone who defines success through delivering high-quality code in a frequent, timely manner.

General Responsibilities:

• Bachelors of Computer Science or Equivalent Degree or Work Experience

• 5 years experience building interactive, high transaction rate applications

• 5 years experience in DBMS design and implementation (commercial and Open Source).

• 5 years development on Linux, Unix or Windows platforms.

• Development experience with document management/services and/or multimedia applications.

• Client/Server web application via HTTP or TCP/IP and UDP/IP.

• C/C++/C#.net, Java, SQL

• Strong database design and development experience for very large database applications. Able to design, code, debug and maintain database schemas & stored procedures.

• Experience with high-volume systems

• Experience with Stored Procedures code design, development and optimization

• Must have database experience with online transactional systems

• Must be able to develop technical specifications and documentation

• Able to multi-task and managing multiple project/task assignments simultaneously

• Perform design reviews, unit testing and data modeling activities as needed

• Thorough understanding of relational database theory and management systems required

• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

• Preferred experience in a web application environment

• Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills

• Experience with mySQL and Linux is a plus

• Experience with Clearcase is a plus

• Experience with Embedded Systems / Telematics / CellularCommunications is a plus
